Business owners need quick, efficient and affordable software solutions to really take their business to the next level. I've dug up some awesome resources for the perfect price - free!

The ultimate free web builder and all in one hosting service, uses a series of questions to create a customized website for you in less than 5 minutes.

It’s fairly simple to use, and actually really powerful for how much work it takes to make it functional. It features built in blogging and e-commerce functionality, as well as free subdomains so you can experiment with Bookmark for no cost, and no risk.

An amazing free software and built in invoice software that allows for professionals to keep calendars, and provide services. It also has the built in capability to track repeat clients, as well as keep a history of what services your patrons have received in the past.

Shedul also allows you to keep calendars and schedule multiple staff, as well as book time off, manage holidays, and days in which your place of business is closed.

If you’re looking for a software to manage your restaurant as well as help you begin your foray into online ordering, Gloria Food is a really great starter solution. The free version has all you need to start receiving online orders, with the option to expand to a paid version to take payment online as well.

The free version also allows you to build in coupon codes, take reservations, and integrate directly into any Facebook page with an ordering button.

If you’re looking for an all-in-one graphic design software (and you’re not a graphic designer) Canva is there for you! Canva can create social media material, print campaigns, logo designs, and so much more. The free version is fully functional, but if you become a Canva whiz, you can upgrade to the paid version and manage all of your designs with built in branding, folder organization and so much more.

Employee scheduling is an unavoidable task, but with Homebase it can be made much easier! Homebase will tell you how many cumulative hours you’ve scheduled an employee for, as well as post shifts for pickup!

Communication is key, and if you’re working with a lot of employees or collaborating on a large scale, you can use Slack for free! Although the archive will only hold 10,000 messages in the free version, for short term and low traffic communication, Slack can be a quick and easy solution.

An online productivity and tracking software, allows you to keep track of tasks in various stages of completion. You can also sort and label them into subcategories, attach documents, notes, feedback, and assign tasks to specific collaborators.

If you’re a freelancer or you provide services for a fee, And Co is a really great all in one tool for tracking your time, invoicing, as well as receiving payments from people. It also allows you to generate and document contracts, use branding in notifications to match your services, and send recurring invoices to contacts.

We’ve all had the age-old problem of running out of ideas when it comes to promoting your brand online with Instagram and Facebook. Here are seven inspirational ideas to boost your brand online, and increase awareness.

1. Promote your products or services

This may seem like an obvious one, but what is it that makes your business special? Do you offer exclusive or hard to find items or services? Do you create your own product in house? Do you sell items that are made locally or by artisans? Do you offer a unique variety of niche products (ie. 89 different kinds of measuring spoons, custom candle scents, etc.)

2. Backstory

How did you get started doing what you’re doing? Does your business have a rich history? Has it been in the family for generations? Are the current owners' entrepreneurs? Did you create your business to meet a need? Did you create your business to fulfil a passion? Do you have any projects that have been a long time in the making? Tell your followers about it and let them share in your excitement!

3. Demonstrations of Products or Services

Perhaps you have a barista that is phenomenal at latte art, or you mix your own bread dough in house. Show your customers how it’s done! Give them a behind the scenes look at what makes you awesome. Content that teaches and informs has high traffic, shareability, and is often retained by your audience at a higher rate.

4. Testimonials, Frequent Shoppers, Reviews

Do you have customers that have been coming to your establishment for years? Ask them about their story! How did they find out about you? What about your establishment is special to them? Did a couple have their first date at your café 15 years ago? Did a loyal employee go on to be successful in another field? Don’t forget to get pictures! Photographs of people have a much higher engagement rate than photographs of places or products.

5. Promoting Products or Articles that Align with your Brand

Perhaps you offer a service or product and see an article that advises on new and interesting ways to use your service/product. Cross promote new and interesting information about products or services you offer by other brands (for example, 35 new and interesting ways to wear a scarf).  Just don’t forget to give credit to the original creator with a quick tag and/or link.

6. Sales and Promotions / New Product Offerings

Sales and promotions are one of the most common content producers for social media. You can also cross-promote any online sales offerings that you have to create opportunities to convert clicks into sales. A word of caution – make sure that your feed isn’t just promotional and sales material or your patrons will quickly lose interest.

7. Boost nearby events to increase foot traffic

Cross promoting local events that will bring people to the area is mutually beneficial! You can gain some traffic with fans of the event, and also drive bodies into your establishment.
